WhatsApp appears to be working on a new feature called undo delete message. WABetaInfo has reported that the instant messaging platform has reportedly started rolling out a new beta update on Android that brings a new undo-delete message feature on the platform.
According to the report, the new feature is currently available to a select number of beta testers on Android even if they have installed the latest WhatsApp Beta for the Android 2.22.18.13 update, it is likely that the feature won’t be available for them. However, a wider rolled out is expected to happen in the coming weeks.
What is undo delete message feature?
According to the report and also as the name implies, the undo delete message feature allows users to undo accidentally deleted messages. The feature can come in handy in case of accidental deletion of a message in chats or in case you’ve accidentally tapped on the option delete for me instead of delete for everyone option.
As per the screenshots posted by the website, users will see a new popup bar at the bottom of the screen with Undo button at the right side after deleting a message in chats or groups.
The report also suggests that users will get a certain time window for Undo delete. This is somewhat similar to what we get with Gmail or other email services where users can undo a sent mail. Although, we currently don’t know how much time WhatsApp will offer for undoing a deleted message.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is also testing a feature for WhatsApp for Windows Desktop client where it offers users to disable notifications for calls. The feature is rolling to select beta testers on WhatsApp beta for Windows version 2.2250.4.0.
Also, to enable the features users can head to Settings → Notifications.
