Apple currently offers two external displays for Mac — the Studio Display which was launched earlier this year and the Pro Display XDR which was released in 2019. The latest 27-inch Studio Display with 5K resolution is priced at Rs 1,59,900. Meanwhile, the older 32-inch Pro Display XDR with 6K resolution has a price tag of Rs 4,49,900. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman’s latest edition of the Power On newsletter, Apple might be planning to expand and upgrade its external display lineup designed for iPad and Mac users. The company is reportedly working on multiple new external displays that will come powered by Apple’s proprietary chipsets. This new range of external monitors will also include a new version of the Pro Display XDR.
Apple’s upcoming version of Pro Display XDR (rumoured)
As per the report, multiple new Apple external monitors are currently in development. The updated version of the Pro Display XDR would be paired with the new Apple processor-powered Mac Pro. However, the new Pro Display XDR is expected to be released after the new Mac Pro.

Earlier, rumours suggested that Apple is developing a new external display with a 7K resolution. The 32-inch Pro Display XDR model which is currently available offers 6K (6016 x 3384) resolution with 218 pixels per inch. Apple’s speculated 7K external display will either offer a higher pixel density of 245 PPI while maintaining the 32-inch screen size. Or, the company may well increase the display size to 36 inches while keeping the same 218 PPI pixel density.
