WhatsApp to introduce ‘alert’ to inform users about this feature

WhatsApp is working on an ‘alert’ that will inform users about the ability to forward media with a caption, according to a report in WhatsApp news tracker WABetaInfo. The ability to forward media with a caption is also under development, and WABetaInfo was the first to report about it, in October last year.

To explain how the ‘alert’ will work, the website shared this screenshot:

As seen above, you will see a message when media in the form of an image, video, GIF, or document, is being forwarded with a caption.

“Media and captions are now forwarded together. You can always remove the caption before you forward,” is the message you will see when using the feature.

How to forward media with caption?

While the feature is still under development, it has been made available to select beta testers. To check if it has been enabled on your device, forward an image with a caption; if enabled, you will see a new message box at the bottom of your WhatsApp account.

Here, you can also remove the caption. For this, just tap the caption icon inside the caption view.
