Meghan Markle Reads Books to Patients at Children’s Hospital – Hollywood Life

Meghan Markle visited Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) to read their favorite books to young patients. The 42-year-old stopped by last month, and pictures and videos emerged of the Duchess of Sussex lovingly reading books to children.

The first one Clothes star wore a black face mask, while hospital staff and children did the same. Meghan read stories to them in a fun way, which elicited laughter and positive responses from the children. CHLA shared photos from the event to Instagram Tuesday, April 2.

“To mark the end of another great #MakeMarchMatter campaign, on Thursday, March 21, CHLA patients and their families were treated to a special Literally Healing time-of-care service by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex,” the hospital wrote in a statement. “They were laughing and singing while he was reading loved ones who were sick like Rosie the Riveter, Pete the Cat and I saw a cat. Focusing on reading, development and enjoyment, the mother of two also helped the children with activities associated with each book that allow children to explore reading, colors, problem solving and more.”

CHLA also described its program, “Literally Healing,” calling it “an innovative reading program that gifts families at CHLA more than 65,000 books annually and provides a unique opportunity to improve reading, as well as support and encourage our sick families through additional medical resources.”

“Thank you, Meghan, for helping #MakeMarchMatter by giving our patients such a unique experience!” CHLA concluded in his statement.

The hospital visit is said to have been kept secret, as many places didn’t find out until a month later. The news of his trip came after his brother-in-law Princess KateAmazing the revelation of cancer. The 42-year-old Princess of Wales shared it social media message on social media on March 22, explaining why he disappeared from public.

“In January, I underwent a major stomach surgery in London and at the time, people thought that my illness was not cancer. The surgery went well,” Kate said in the video before adding, “However, post-surgery tests revealed cancer was present. So my doctors told me that I should receive preventive medical treatment, and now I am the first to receive the treatment.”

Meghan and her husband, Prince Harrygave a public comment in response to Kate’s announcement.

“We wish health and healing to Kate and the family, and we hope they can do so privately and peacefully,” Meghan and Harry said, according to multiple outlets.
