X is working on NSFW Communities for adult content


X is to work which would allow admins of “Communities,” a subreddit-like social platform tool, to designate sites as “adult.” The update was confirmed by an engineer at X amid reports that Elon Musk’s company is working on supporting NSFW content.

In a post on X, engineer Dong Wook Chung that “soon” NSFW content can be filtered out in the Community app. “Administrators can now set ‘General’ in Settings to prevent content filtering,” Chung said.

Like Bloomberg , researchers have already seen what X has planned to target “adult” interests. X users share nudes and other “photos”, but it does not allow them to appear in other parts of the application, such as profile pictures and cover pictures of Areas.

X’s Communities dates back to when Musk took over the company. Twitter started testing the idea , says it will provide a “closer opportunity for discussion” on the platform. Although Twitter has never publicly spoken about how NSFW it supports Communities, the app allows adults, unlike many of its social media partners. The company reportedly focused on creating a competition for OnlyFans and subscriptions in 2022.
