The Kindle Paperwhite is on sale for $20 off at Amazon

About Amazon it’s a reader you can take with you anywhere thanks to its invisible and waterproof design, and it’s currently the best price we’ve seen this year so far. The ad-locked 16GB Kindle Paperwhite, normally priced at $150, is down to $130 in action from Amazon. It’s not all-time low, but it’s the cheapest this reader has been since Black Friday. If you don’t want to see ads on the door, the ad-free version is also $20 off, at $150 compared to its regular price of $170.

The discount is for the latest version of the Kindle Paperwhite and is valid for three colors: Black, Agave Green and Denim. The Paperwhite is large enough to read and fit in your hand, with a 6.8-inch display. The backlight is adjustable and can be changed from a white light to a warm, amber light that is easy on the eyes. With a 300 ppi glare-free display, text should be clear on the screen, and easy to read even in direct sunlight.

Amazon says this version of the Kindle Paperwhite can last up to 10 weeks on a charge, although this will depend on how much you use the device. It has a USB-C charging port. The Paperwhite is pool-friendly, too, with IPX8 water resistance. It is not resistant to splashes, but must also withstand immersion in freshwater, within reasonable limits. The Amazon is said to be protected for up to an hour in freshwater up to 2 meters deep. It is slightly different from sea water, however, it is rated to withstand a three-minute submersion in .25 meters.

If audiobooks are too much, the Kindle Paperwhite also supports the format, and integrates with Bluetooth headphones or speakers. It doesn’t have built-in speakers or an audio jack, so you’ll need an external audio device.
