Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon Starrer Crew breaks their minds. It’s an honest-to-goodness rollercoaster ride. Geeta Sethi, portrayed by Tabu, Jasmine Bajwa, played by Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Divya Rana, portrayed by Kriti Sanon, are members who work at Kohinoor Airlines. The airline serves as a partially shrouded replica of the now defunct Kingfisher Airlines. The chairman of Kohinoor Airlines, photographed by Saswata Chatterjee, makes a clear statement about billionaire Vijay Mallya, who is known for his flight. The authors of the film, Nidhi Mehra and Mehul Suri, do not try to hide this connection, mentioning their character Vijay Walia, who leaves, declaring that he has no money, leaving thousands of workers on the couch.

Geeta, along with her husband Arun Sethi, portrayed by Kapil Sharma, runs a cloud kitchen on the side and the couple dreams of having their own restaurant in Goa. Jasmine epitomizes the endless desire for more, she is happy to ask for an LV bag or a BMW, even if she doesn’t have them. She dreams of opening her own cosmetics company but doesn’t have the money to buy it. He is the apple of his beloved grandfather’s (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) eye. Divya Rana from Haryana, as she is fondly called by Jaiveer (Diljit Dosanjh), is a trained pilot, who became a flight attendant because she couldn’t get a job as a pilot and is still paying off her student loan.

They all have their own goal of removing the gold. Fate leads them to a corrupt airline captain (Rajesh Sharma), who hires them to smuggle gold into the Al Burj. It is when they start asking why gold is being smuggled to the Gulf and not the other way around, that they understand that they are helping their wealth abroad. With their consciences searing, they plan a Mission Impossible-like heist in pursuit of justice.

Director Rajesh Krishnan weaves a comedy that celebrates the power of women. It makes you show even how fun it is. Geeta, Jasmine and Divya here are not one side but many, struggling with life and careers that are similar to the women around you. They are besties for life, leaning on each other for emotional support and more. They want men and value the bond they share as friends. Friendship, which transcends years, cannot judge and forgive. They know their faults and they also know their strengths. It’s fun to spy on what they’re doing. Their dialogue makes you feel like you’re listening to three women speak their hearts out, rather than just talking out loud.

The movie has a nice, easy breeze at the beginning and it flies by without any fuss. It is the second half that is faced with inconsistent weather and the landing is difficult, however, they can land the plane and give you a fun ride. It’s not a heist movie. It is a film about female relationships and about life. The relationship between these three stars is amazing. One can see that there were no ego hassles on set and the three really enjoyed working with each other. Kareena uses her comedy skills to the fullest and her lines and dialogues are laugh out loud funny. Tabu has a better attitude in this film than anyone else and drives like a great actor. Her scenes with Kapil Sharma feel like a middle-aged, middle-aged viewer. He doesn’t have much but he has love and that’s enough. Kriti Sanon is acting with some big hitters but she didn’t let herself be defeated by the company. He shines in front of great actors, plays them well and brings his A-game in the film. Her romantic scenes with Diljit, though short, are captivating.

The men in the film, be it Diljit Dosanjh, Kapil Sharma, Rajesh Sharma or Saswata Chatterjee know that the spotlight, for once, is not on them and stand up for the sport. We are really looking for brave men to take part in the game for sure.

Watch this movie for the laughs it delivers and its strong message of praising female relationships. Also songs sung by Tabu, Kareena Kapoor, and Kriti Sanon.

Story: Events lead the three runners to a gold smuggling site. It’s all fun and games until conscience comes calling.

Comments: Girls should be happy and Bollywood listens.
Co-stars Geeta Sethi (Tabu), Jasmine Kohli (Kareena Kapoor Khan) and Divya Rana (Kriti Sanon) provide character and hospitality to the Kohinoor passengers. Undisputed game queens and their battles to fight and lies to hide. Nothing unites the workers more than their suffering which creates an unlikely bond between the three airline receivers. When they realize that their debt-ridden plane is about to crash, the women are forced to look for ways to survive. Necessity is the mother of invention and sometimes, even crime. (PS – Neither Sahara Shri nor Vijay Mallya was burnt for making this article).

Crew has a smooth take off boasting a great first half performance and a slippery landing. The fast-paced comedy always entertains even when the climax is simplistic, confusing or far-fetched. The heist bit isn’t clever and doesn’t pretend to be clever, which works. The humor comes from the lives of the characters shamelessly, hopelessly without thought. Their designs are as effective as the Vasco Da Gama ki gun (of the Andaz Apna Apna) yet they show the style and attitude of the ramp brand. Ignorance literally evokes laughter as you submit to their world of lust, vanity, and deceit.

Caught in a dilemma between needs, wants and values, although the outside is ashen, Workers are interested in the elite and their relationship with money, morality and the last job that makes them slaves for the rest of their lives. ‘Adarshon se bill nahi bharte’, Geeta reminds herself.

As for the ladies, the leading actresses of Crew are in their 30s, 40s and 50s respectively and singing hasn’t looked interesting for an all-female Indian film for a long time. Beyond the juxtaposition of ages, this story never leaves women and even men as interesting as Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma. Kulbhushan Kharbanda also has a unique look and none of the men have a problem even though he has a short viewing time like most of the chickens.

While all three bring their A-game, Tabu and Kareena showcase the true power of action video. Bebo is nervous about things like a runner who hides her loneliness. Caught between responsibilities and passions, Tabu is dangerous. The two are directing the screen with clearly written characters. The two even joke about age which we’re sure they relate to. Kriti looks like a third wheel here but she has good chemistry with Diljit.

If you’re looking for a lighthearted madcap comedy, The Crew is everything you’d expect from it – silly, funny and cute.
