Sonos is planning a follow-up release for 2021’s Roam speaker, and it should be here in time for all your summer outdoor adventures. In news this week, BloombergMark Gurman says Sonos is planning a June release for the Roam 2 speaker was Sonos’ second attempt at a portable speaker, featuring a small, three-piece design that weighs less than a kilogram but produces impressive sound.

According to Gurman, this version of the Roam will have an active control panel that is seen in other speakers of the company, such as the Era 100. Sonos is also said to be working on a new software to connect its devices, starting with the Roam 2 and the upcoming headphones that are similar to the competition of AirPods Max. Those headphones will cost $450, Gurman says, and are expected to be released in June a little behind their original plan.
