History:

Midea Group, a leading global technology group, recently released its 2023 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report with sustainable development goals set for 2030.

This includes achieving more than 500 megawatts of electricity generation, reducing the amount of greenhouse gases (quantity of 1 and 2) by 0.040, securing Energy Management System Certification in 50 factories, and achieving 100% carbon footprint accounting for large groups of smart devices household items.

This is in line with the Sustainable Development Report Global Report Standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

The new report and campaign focuses on four areas: Protect the Blue Planet, Build a Connected Community, Try to ‘Bring Big Innovations to Life’, and Together Create Environmental Success.

Midea’s ESG information is comprehensive but communicating it to the general public can be difficult and risk drying up.

For his first ESG-style film, it would have been easy to follow a convention with oceans, rainforests, and superpowers backed by prosaic voiceovers but to cut it short, entertainment was essential.

With this in mind, a documentary film was created telling the story of a factory tour with Midea’s most important VIPs. The next generation.

This integration highlights children as VIPs and beneficiaries of ESG initiatives. Their characteristics bring warmth, simplicity, and beauty that only children can provide, allowing the brand to provide complex points with a soft touch.

The video was launched worldwide on 28 March 2024, across Linkedin, Facebook (NASDAQ:), X, Youtube platforms.
