Hezbollah launches military offensive after Israel strikes Lebanon killing 7 | Israel’s War on Gaza News

Israeli airstrikes hit health facilities in southern Lebanon; Hezbollah terrorists have killed one person in an Israeli border town.

Hezbollah said it launched dozens of rockets at Kiryat Shmona, a border town with Israel, in response to an Israeli airstrike on the southern Lebanese village of al-Habbariyeh that killed seven people.

Israel’s military and Iran-allied Hezbollah, an ally of Hamas, have been exchanging blows. almost every day fire crossing the border from October when the present war in Gaza he started.

About 30 rockets were fired from Lebanon into northern Israel on Wednesday, according to the Israeli military. Israeli emergency workers say a 25-year-old factory worker in Kiryat Shmona was killed.

Israeli forces attacking al-Habbariyeh hit a medical center linked to a group of Lebanese Sunni Muslims. The Emergency and Relief Corps said the victims were volunteers.

According to al-Habbariyeh, Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr said the young men were killed in an Israeli strike that “destroyed” the emergency hospital.

“People here tell us that the men inside the building were medical workers, volunteers and university students, all in their 20s,” Khodr said. “They were helping the people living on the border of this region where we have seen the daily exchange of fire between Israel and … Hezbollah.”

Although the Israeli army claimed to have killed a senior citizen, Khodr said that local residents said “this is nothing but fabricated lies… this was for civilians”.

Hezbollah vowed to avenge the attack, saying it “will not go unpunished”.

Lebanon’s Ministry of Health on Wednesday condemned the attack on the plane and said “these illegal protests violate international laws and norms, especially the Geneva Convention, which emphasizes the neutrality of hospitals and health workers”.

Khodr said: “This is not the first time that medical facilities have been hit by the ongoing border conflict. We have seen many people attack hospitals, especially in the frontline villages, and we have seen people being killed.”

The Israeli army has said it struck a “military base” and killed a member of al-Jamaa al-Islamiya, or the Islamic Movement, a political and military group in Lebanon.

The target of the Israeli airstrikes “encouraged the plot to go to Israeli territory” and was “destroyed”, the army said in a social media post, along with “other terrorists” who were inside the building.

“These people will tell you that Israel’s strategy since day one has been to remove villages near the border,” Khodr said.

“They are trying to create a certain place, to make it difficult for ordinary people to live here. About 100,000 people have already left. In this village, people are still here, but the concern is growing that it will start to arise,” he added.

Last month, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said Israel they will pay the price “in blood” for the killing of Lebanese civilians, suggesting that the conflict across the Lebanese-Israeli border may escalate.
