AI can make better beer. This is how it is.

These types of models can help food and beverage manufacturers create new or adapt existing recipes to suit consumers’ preferences, which can help save time and money that would otherwise be spent on experiments.

To train their AI models, the researchers spent five years analyzing 250 commercials alcoholmeasuring each beer’s strength and flavor—what makes the beer taste good.

The researchers combined this detailed analysis with the evaluation of well-trained beers – including the aroma of hops, yeast, and malt – with 180,000 reviews of the same beers taken from the popular online platform RateBeer, a large sample of beer tastes, features. , smell, and overall quality.

This big data, which combines chemical and sensory data, was used to train 10 machine learning models to accurately predict a beer’s taste, aroma, and mouthfeel and how likely a consumer would try it.
