Gates, 25, is in his fourth NFL season after being signed by the Giants from Nebraska in 2018. He missed the 2018 season due to a preseason foot injury.
He started in the middle, guarding right and right when he was on duty, and was in charge Thursday night.
He is in his final year of extending his two-year contract with the Giants in 2020.
