In the past ten years, self-driving gone “probably” now “impossible” now “inevitable” but “how did anyone think this was inevitable?” “now available for sale.” In December 2018, Waymo, a company that came out of the Google driving project, officially launched a driving business in the Phoenix area. At first, the program was a nightmare: it was only available to a few hundred riders, and the security guards were left behind. But over the past four years, Waymo has slowly opened the program to the general public and has begun to drive robotaxis without internal drivers. The company brought this to San Francisco. People are now paying robot riders.
