Home Run Derby bracket 2021: Contestants, challenges & predictions of the winner

Dingers. The heat of the moon. Longball Games. Big flies. Drawings. Whatever you call ’em, these guys will save’ em.

A year later, the Home Run Derby is back Monday night, and there is a chance it will be one of the longest: Denver’s lower airline allows more zaftig numbers home.

The field will also work: Shohei Ohtani, Joey Gallo and the 2019 dinger competition Pete Alonso is the subject of this year’s theme, with many hoping Ohtani can finish.

Of course, there are others who want to sleep: Home-based player Trevor Story has a chance to participate in a game he knows in his first game with Gallo, while former Athletics player Matt Olson has a chance to get to the end, as well.

Expect long-distance flies to Mile High City. This is how the field is similar in the 2021 Home Run Derby.

Joe Rivera (@JoeRiveraSN): It’s Sho’s time? Not really. There’s a reason they’re two top seed, and Joey Gallo will inspire Shohei Ohtani to finish in one of the Best Home Run Derbies on recent memories. Winner: Gallo

Jacob Camenker (@JacobCamenker): Joey Gallo will pass his side while Shohei Ohtani against Pete Alonso will be the highlight of the final game. The winning derby winner Alonso comes out but finishes in the final against the Ranger slugger. Winner: Gallo

Jason Foster (@ByJasonFoster): This gives us what we want – over and over again, giant food – and it will be exactly what we expected – with Shohei Ohtani taking the crown and continuing to make themselves a super-mutant baseball and possible astronomical. Check out at least a 500-plus-foot homer from him in Denver’s fat air. Winner: Ahtani

Ryan Fagan (@KamemeTvKenya): Joey Gallo has a raw, easy-going ability to win this Derby – even though he has a lot of sluggers in Denver – he doesn’t do much. Winner: Gallo

Home The Derby Run is controversial

  • Pete Alonso: +450
  • Matt Olson: +600
  • Juan Soto: +800
  • Trevor’s story: +800
  • Salvador Perez: +1500
  • Trey Mancini: +1500
